Newb overclocker here, so please go easy on me ;).

I'm running into a bit of a problem with OCCT and its temperature reader. The problem is, it's showing different values to that of Real Temp and Core Temp, even my the LED on the motherboard is showing a different reading to OCCT, so I'm not sure which temperature to believe :(.

As a result, I'm getting this error, and I'm not sure what to do about it :(.

RealTemp is pretty much accurate I'd say 98% accurate, however temps do go up and down like a YoYo during stress testing. I sugest that is the maximum temp OCCT says is a safe level, RealTemp has hit 91c in that test, and that's not good at all!.

RealTemp accesses your CPU at a higher Windows priority compared to other monitoring software. When you are doing some full load stress testing, RealTemp is first in line when asking your CPU what core temperature it is at. The result is that other monitoring software may miss the peak core temperature because the CPU is too busy.

You can trust the higher peak core temperatures that RealTemp reports. It is showing you this information for a reason.

Here is the latest version with a few more features for the 4 core Ivy Bridge CPUs like you have. The RealTemp GT version you are using is for CPUs with 6 cores.

RealTemp T|I Edition

This version displays the CPU Package temperature which represents the peak core temperature.
