Ok then folks, please critique my proposed basket for a build and suggest any changes.

I've tried to make use of 'offers of the week' to keep cost down.

Also I'd like matching brands (hence Gigabyte MB and GPU, Corsair case and cooler) to placate my mild OCD, although I don't have any strong preferences for particular brands. So, for example, were an ASUS MB to be suggested, then I'd be grateful for an ASUS GPU to also be suggested. Anything above a 1070 GPU is probably overkill for my use, I have an AOC 32" 1440P monitor but don't do much in the way of gaming and happy to turn settings down. I've gone with a 1060 card for now with a view to upgrading that in a year or two.

I've gone with pretty RGB components so far, I presume they all integrate and work together.

Corsair or Coolermaster cases are ideal, as I can get a matching keyboard too lol. There's a Coolermaster RGB case that I could get as an alternative to the Corsair, similar price. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cool...ower-case-black-tempered-glass-ca-36q-cm.html

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,254.93 (includes shipping: £14.10)

Corsair RGB doesn't work with mother board vendors but cool master does .

Ultra 2.0 should be out very soon !

Use gtx 1070 for 1440p screen !

Drop to i5 8400/b360 Aorus 3 board if you have to and 2400hz 16gb ram kit to save money

Thanks for the heads up reference Corsair RGB. I'll go with the Coolermaster in that case.

I'll go and have another look at GPUs.

I think the ram does, but it's mainly through Corsair software, like nzxt does

Push for one of cooler masters better cases- more airflow :D they also do RGB air-cooler. But 8400 lot easier to cool the 8600k overclocked
