OC'd C2D failed Orthos. Any ideas?

Could also be your board. You might need to up chipset volts a bit if running as in your sig.

Whats the full details of the overclock

Hope its not the RAM as took nearly 6 weeks to RMA it to Corsair last time!!!

I will get full volts info tomorrow and post. Think vCore is 1.45 off top of my head thou, 2.25volts for Ram and 1.55volts for MCH (But that might be lower)
Was trying to drop vCore for cooler running chip.

I have a similar setup to yours - P5W and 6600. Over about 350mhz on the FSB prime/orthos would not run with my memory at anything other than 1:1 (although most apps were fine up to 380mhz). Switching the RAM to 1:1 meant I am now 2x prime stable at 392mhz.

With 8500C5 mem it feels a waste but at 392 it runs at 3-4-4-11 and is just as fast as before on sandra/everest benchmarks.

Look at the test orthos failed on, its a good indicator as to whats wrong.
Low k tests usually stress CPU, higher k tests stress system and ram. It failed pretty much straight off on the 8k tests.

Just double check and run windows memtest, should show if the rams the trouble. It's unlikely you'd see ram fails on 8k though.

Right, So if low K stresses CPU and high K stresses RAM, then its the CPU failing on 8k test, not the Ram, as its passing the 1028k tests? Is this right?

I have following settings:-
380FSB
1.45 vcore
1.55 MCH
FSB Auto
ICH Auto
Lowered mem from 2.2v DDR2-950 to 2.1v DDR2-760 and still failed but on rounding (see screenie) after testing with above settings.

Should I up the vcore or MCH voltage do you think?

Upped my MCH to 1.6v and Vcore to 1.475v and seems sorted now!
With 1.65v MCH and 1.5v Vcore it boots fine @ 390FSB but think got CPU cooler trouble as heats up quick.
System strip and some lapping in order!!
