I just updated my ROG Maximus X Hero motherboard to the latest BIOS (Version 2203). Previously, I could run my 8086K @ 5GHz with 1.28V (Cooling: NZXT Kraken X62 & RAM: G.SKILL F4-3600C17D-16GTZR 16GB 2x8GB TRIDENT Z RGB 3600MHZ) and would get 80-90C temps under Prime95 torture testing, which I was fine with as it's extreme heat production isn't realistic for normal use, plus I'm delidding soon, so hoping for 15-20C drop after that.
Now, however, after installing the BIOS update, and using the same overclocking settings, the temps hit 100C+ under Prime95 torture testing and I have to end the test in well under a minute due to the temps.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know if there is any way to reduce the temps without reducing the OC? I know I'll be delidding and it'll probably solve the issue, but at the same time, I want my 10-15C back!
