Hi All,

Just got my new rig setup and am wondering what sort of temps I should be expecting.

At the moment, it seems to idle at around 24degrees CPU and 34degrees NB. This then goes up to 32/40 once I've run a game or something like that.

** Plus I think I put on too much thermal paste - as the instructions from Prolimatech are somewhat lacking... **

They sound about alright dont they that prolimatech cooler that is also not overclocked, i just read in another thread that some chap has got 3.6 on the stock cooler with relatively high temps but still within the limit. How about reapplying the thermal paste, theres loads of guides on the internet, i just put a little dab on then used a razor blade to spread it out into a thin layer that just makes contact with my stock cooler!

hmm.. gonna put a second fan on the cooler i think..

at the moment is pushing to the back with a case fan pulling.. might put another pull fan..

had to use a cable tie for hold the cooler on, as the memory is two big.. lol..
 
Well you'll probably lose a few degrees on using the cable ties it won't be as tight to the cpu as it should be.
 
it's really tight.. the metal holders are hooked in at the top and at the bottom, pull around the sides and pulled together with the ties, which are hidden by the ram cooler...
