Heya guys, since these chips can be had cheap now I thought I might try my hand at overclocking this thing til I can afford a full upgrade.

I have an
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Corsair XMS 2 GB DDR400 Memory Dual Channel
AMD64 3500 Venice

I ran orthos and after half an hour it never budged above 44c and to my knowledge it never gets hotter than that.

I was wondering the threshold for these chips before any damaged can be done to it and how much these can be clocked by.

I am currently using the stock cooler on this processor.

I have a thermal strip connected to the memory and temp reads between 30c and 32c, not sure what the danger temps are for the memory either.

Temp wise 55-60 is usually max, clocks I've seen from 3500s usually end up in the 2.5-2.7Ghz range but every CPU is different.

You can do some limited clocking on this if you don't raise the voltage.

I can run my 3500+ venice at 2907MHz 1.55v totally stable - its a 0610GPMW or similar stepping. However, most do seem to goto 2.5-2.7GHz stable.

Try lowering the memory divider and pushing the FSB as high as you can get it stable.
