This is my first attempt at memory oc'ing so be gentle :p

I worked out my max fsb so now its down to getting the memory up to speed
FSB Bus Frequency 280Mhz
LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio x3
CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio x9
PCI-Express Frequency 101Mhz (pci lock)
CPU VID Control 1.4v

Decreased the Multi to x7 to remove it from the loop.

The default settings for my ram are as follows:
Samsung UCCC 2.5-3-3-6 2.6 ~ 2.75 V

So i thought finding my best timings would be a good place to start, so i reduced the FSB to 200Mhz to take that out the loop.
1) Reduced CAS to 2. result: Wouldn't reach the memtest without rebooting
So i put it back to 2.5
2) Reduced tRCD to 2, tRAS to 8 (2.5+3+2 cycles) result: System no longer booted
Reset the CMOS and loaded the last good settings (2.5-3-3-6)
3) Reduced Trp to 2, increased tRP to 8 (6+2), result: Crashed on memtest
Used hotkey to restore to last saved settings.
I increased the volts to 2.8 but it made no difference.
Conclusion: Memory wont take any lower timings.

Now to work out the max FSB on the timings 2.5-3-3-6, starting from a reasonably low number (230Mhz) i ran memtest (test 5) to check for inital stability. Increasing in 5 mhz increments until system became unstable increasing the volts to 2.8 (from reading around i found the ram was best oc'd at a slightly higher voltage i.e 2.7/2.8).
At 245 Mhz i began getting memory errors, so went in 1 mhz increments from 240 Mhz.
Memtest Max: 243Mhz

FSB Bus Frequency 243Mhz
CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio x7
PCI-Express Frequency 101Mhz
Dram Frequency Set(Mhz) 200
Command Per Clock(CPC) enable
CAS Latency Control(tCL) 2.5
RAS# to CAS# Delay(tRCD) 3
Min RAS# Active Timing(tRAS) 6
Row Precharge Timing(tRP) 3

Will run Super Pi tomorow.

Next i will play with set the other RAM timings to create a default to work from using "stable" settings for all options and tweak them 1 by 1 and see if i can get the fsb up a bit.

Any suggestions for improvements to what i am doing so far? or am i roughly on the right track.

Tnx

Samsung UCCC is not for tight timings, it is for slack timings but high clockspeed.

Keep incresing the speed until unstable, then slacken timings and try again.

I would go to 3-4-4-8-1T as slackest timings and see how far you can go.

Im stuck on 243 Mhz for the fsb,
it doesnt matter what timings i use i seem to losed stability even at 244 :S
I really dont want to go above 2.8volts on the chips,
i have tried:
2.5-3-3-6 - Max 243 Mhz
2.5-3-3-8 - Max 243 Mhz
3-3-3-8 - Max 243Mhz
3-4-4-8 - Max 243 Mhz

All the above on 1t timings, i played a bit with the other options in the bios but didnt seem to make any difference

anyone using the above memory found a solution?

thanks in advance

you my friend are a genius,
i forgot the mobo puts the drive strength to weak when on auto,
back to playing soon as this memtest finishes ^^

w00t

im a genous

mwhahahhaa

:p

glad i could help....

i got some UCCC to play with once i get this rig rebuilt this weekend :)
