Good Afternoon guys and ladies....

wealth of knowledge on here, and uk based much better than toms!

well ive been out of the game for a number of years and recently got a gaming build pretty cheap....

and with any of us we love a little tinkering!

so i have a i5 4690k on stock cooler atm, and i know the 'k' cpus are made for ocing!

so what sort of cooler am i looking at, dont really want to go down the water route, and my case is big enough zalman z11 plus, and has very good airflow.

i remember the hyper 212 had a good write up a few years back and was a reasonable good price...
is there anything better now days for the price..

yes i am a tight git!

Thanks

I'm a bit behind the curve when it comes to coolers but I'm currently using a Thermalright Macho HR-02 which I carried over from my previous setup (Phenom II 955 BE) and it's doing a very decent job at keeping my 4790k reasonably cool (28-32C idle, around 49-52C load in Watch Dogs). I haven't overclocked the CPU yet but it seems I still have quite a bit of headroom temps wise and I can imagine your 4690k being a tad cooler. You can also check out stuff from Raijintek (namely the EreBoss, I heard good things about it) but I think the Macho HR-02 + Arctic MX-2 is all you need.
