OCing noob: is it okay to have voltages at auto?

Just overclocked my 2500K to 4.4Ghz and it's stable. The thing is i've only changed the DRAM voltage (1.507v) and CPU vCore (1.3v although CPU-Z says 1.288-1.296v) and have left everything else on Auto. Is their any chance that the Auto setting would increase the voltages to dangerous amounts? Reason i'm worried is I tried using OC Genie but that put CPU vCore to 1.345v which I was told was too much for a 24/7 OC.

TIA,

Auto settings are very conservative, so you will end up with a lot more VCore than you need. It's a much better idea to find out your minimum stable VCore manually.

The problem isn't with the vCore, but with the other voltages PLL, CPUIO etc. Is it OK to leave these on auto?

Is 1.345v really to much for a OC ? I would have thought that generally would have been fine. Its when you hit the later 1.4v and into 1.5v its not very good for the CPU

If I leave my VCore on Auto @4.4GHz it sets it to about 1.35V. Set to manual the lowest stable VCore @4.4GHz is 1.25V. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

In answer to the OP, yes I would think it's better to leave all the rest on auto - I have them set that way. I think some people fiddle with them if they want really high overclocks, but if you're just looking for something in the region of 4.4-4.6 then you shouldn't need to as far as I know.
