oc'ing on a asus premium and opty 170?

using geil ram sticks say about 2gb, and an opty 170 on a ASUS premium mobo, would i be able to get 2.6ish? anyone tried overclocking on this type of mobo using an dual core or opty?

Howevere I assume you didn't bother to read any of the 100,000 posts on this forum, all the info you could need to know, I can't be bothered to type anymore, don't be lazy get reading!

[edit] make sure when you read some posts that people who are claiming a stable overclock have bothered to post some screenies! there are a lot of weenies here screaming for attention ;)

Attention on a blind forum? You must be joking right?
Back on track the last batch of 170's from ocuk were good, I have one of them and have never posted any screenies. Mine runs at 2.8 on auto voltage and has never missed a beat.

Thats not to say that all 170's will do the same. Its a bit of a lottery.

does this have any relavance to the post i made!? did you not understand what was my question? i was SAYING ¬.¬ would i be able to get a good overclock using a opt170 on a asus premium board, jeez ¬.¬
 
Yes you would, but it is always a lottery as to how much you can actually reach. i have just bought an Asus A8N sli premium to replace my Msi k8n neo 4 platinum. i have an opty 170 running on it. i could only get 2500 with the MSI, but i can get 2700 on the asus, which is a pretty typical OC on this setup. like everyone else has said - nothing is guaranteed.... pay yer money, take yer chance ;)
