Ive had a look around the BIOS, and I make up my mind and to what settings the change other than the FSB for the CPU.

So far I have changed it so the memory is 'unlinked' and have been messing around with upping the FSB for the CPU. (Also what would i set the FSB too if i wanted just get simply 3.0ghz? Im only used to OC'ing my old DFI 939 mobo lol, they were easy to OC as i knew how the CPU speed was determined, but with 775 im not sure how the speed is determined.)

Is there anything else that needs changing if i unlink the memory and change the FSB?

Thanks very much :)

Sorry i cant be much more help, i cant remember my settings off the top of my head.

EDIT:

Found my settings which i had written down...

CPU Voltage: 1.35v
Vdimm: 2.2v
NB Voltage: 1.563v
FSB settings: Linked, RAM in sync

It'd be interesting to hear how you get on as i have the ssme mobo asnd ram as you and overclocking is a nightmare for me

If its anything like the Asus 680i boards then you will quite likely find with a lot of RAM that you have to leave the RAM settings on Auto/SPD (and use unlinked to set RAM speed) or spend a long time researching the exact settings for every RAM setting including tRFC, etc. not just the 4-4-4-12 part for example - otherwise you will get random lockups even if it passes memtest... odd but I've seen it happen over a few systems.

I've found the Asus P5N32-E SLI and striker and the equivalent 650i boards very unforgiving with overclocking compared to 975X and 965 performance boards, but when setup correctly give very good performance.

thanks for those dude.

I changed the FSB of cpu to 1333 and set memory to unlinked. Ive left the voltages alone for now. So far so good :)

hi guys,
i`m just finishing my watercooling project on my p5n32 sli plus (680i sb and 650i nb). I`ve been playing around with loads over overclocking settings (@3.4 stable atm, was pushing 3.6 the othernight till i felt the sb!!!)
new sb cooler coming tomorrow and a full writeup of the whole watercooling project and overclock setting coming after!!

i`ve been through so many learning curves with my board and my w/c`ing setup/ chip ram etc. Talking to people is the best and i`ve got to admit that the people i regulary chat to have got me years worth of experience in only a few weeks (you know who you are)
i`ll get a write up and update it daily (haven`t got time to do it each day!) then you can see which step i went through mate.

Below is a really good thread to start looking through, i know they reference the 680i board but they talk a lot about the cooling etc that you need (nb and sb run real hot on these boards) but it`ll help you a lot with your 650 (it has me and i`ve got the 650i nb):
