OCOOL Alphacool AlphaLCD wont shut down need help!!

I would have suggested reading their forums but i've just discovered their all in german - and i'm guessing using 'babel fish' on a german forum would take quite a while to diagnose your problem.

My only credible answer would be to uninstall it and then do a re-install as it's probable that it's become corrupt especially if you're using the 1.0.3 (beta) version?

It's a drastic fix for a problem but it's a small app so i'm hoping it shouldn't be an issue.

You've either bought an astonishing amount of software recently or you've just done a fresh install?

It's, obviously, going to be hard, if it was a software conflict, to pin point which was the culprit as you've installed a lot of software that coincides with your problem.

Having said that hopefully another user will come along and see your install list and perhaps see a known conflict - it's probably your best hope.

Sorry i couldn't be of any more help - but with the added install info you may get a result.

Edit: Try writing a summary and posting it in the german forum you may be surprised with the amount of responses you get. It's only us brits that only speak 2 languages - english and psuedo french.

hi all my Alphacool AlphaLCD DISPLAY wont shut down wen i turn off my pc does any one know how i can fix this?

Hi, i have the same screen as you, and i had the same problem, however i did find a work around for it, but for the life of me i cant find it, IIRC you have to just alter one line in the register and then it switches off, i will try to find it...

i have stopped using mine because the drivers are rubbish

ok, i found it, the work around does not stop the power to the lcd but it will switch the screen off

because of the standby power of the USB the display holds its state. Simply go to the profileeditor - 'event pages' and choose the event 'on shutdown'. Now uncheck the backlight option and choose 'clear screen'. After shut down the LCD is still under power, but without a display and light.

hope this helps

the new beta drivers work better

I've got the same problem.

It was happening when it went to sleep. I never found a solution. Its a bug mate.

Having said that I never really remember it staying on when it was fully off.
