OCR software

I'm familiar with Textbridge and Omnipage. I rate both about the same for letter-by-letter accuracy but Omnipage definitely gets the edge for replicating the presentation of the originating page.

Most HP and Canon scanner models will come with a software bundle. That will normally include a freebie called 'Read Iris', so you could do with checking your existing scanners for the freebie first.

The two best ones I know of are Scansoft Omnipage (now v17) and Abbyy Finereader (now v10), off these 2, I liked Abbyy Finereader best...

If you can try this first as OCR programs can be quite expensive...
