Octoprint on a raspberry pi remote access

I've just got a raspberry pi,must admit it was strange to get it installed...

Anyway, now want to remotely access it, the options are

*Set up a static IP
*Set up a Von connection

Must admit I'm lost with both options and asking for help you just get told watch YouTube videos, which I've tried and it doesn't make sense.

So how can I do either?

Router is Netgear 7800, if that helps?

For a static IP an IP reservation is the easiest option. In the router settings you should have an option to always assign a device the same IP based on its MAC address.
