There is word over at xs that futuremark will be not allowing results that are boosted by nvidia PhysX on a GPU in the hall of fame. That would level the playing field somewhat.

Looks like futuremark have started disallowing PhysX results from the orb.

Jarvo1, out of curiosity what kind of score do you get if you disable PPU in vantage?

I don't think they've ever allowed them in the ORB database, I was looking for K|ingp|ns amazing tri-GTX280 score a couple of weeks ago but couldn't find it on there. If you read the small print, to have your results included in a database search or in the hall of fame, you have to have PPU disabled and you have to be using a driver thats verified and approved by futuremark, and none of the approved drivers are the latest versions (177.35 for GTX280/260, 175.16 for 8 and 9 series and catalyst 8.6 for ATI) so if you keep your drivers up to date, you more than likely won't be included anyway regardless of PhysX.

OK, I just did a couple of runs at my everyday settings (3.6GHz, everything else stock with loads of processes running in vista). Have to say I was curious to how much of a difference it makes too.

Here's a comparitive breakdown of scores, avg FPS and OPS, listed with PPU enabled.....PPU disabled.

Overall.........-> P22241.....17666
CPU.............-> 40240.......13981
GPU.............-> 19355.......19368
Jane Nash....-> 56.32........56.35
New Calico...-> 57.08........57.12
AI Test.........-> 1871.52....1888.8
Physics Test..-> 146.16......19.68

So ~4500 points added with PhysX enabled. Looking at those numbers, all tests were pretty much the same apart from the Physics test, I can see why futuremark don't include PhysX results if the extra 120 OPS is worth almost 30000 CPU points.

I think it'd be interesting to see a leaderboard somewhere thats ranked on GPU score only until everyone can use GPU based PhysX
