ok... so i have a Gecube Radeon HD3870 which i love...

but the chaps at this loveable store as we all know have dropped the price on the card so it is UNBELIEVEABLY cheap... so should i try and flog my card off and get an 8800GT to run in the rig in my sig? is the performance differential that big? and am i really sacrificing that much in not going for Xfire??? (tbth i have not so much faith that my PSU can handle it...)

if i do, though, it'll probably be in like August or so... maybe even October... student = strapped for $$$. Not to mention i heard i lose 15% cos of the latter x4 PCIe slot... just want to do the right thing, you know?

If you're that worried about the board then you might as well go for a GT, or even a second-hand GTX as you can get them for about £180 now. I'd still go Crossfire though as 15% loss isn't that bad, especially if the reviews I saw when deciding between Crossfired 3870s or a 3870 X2 use the same kind of chipset.
