OcUK 8800GTX Quick Question

Just a nice and simple one for you

Got my new rig today with one of these

And noticed that the card came with the black handle on the end, I take it this is because its an OEM?

Question is, can it be removed, it fits in my case with it, but obviously it doesnt look too nice so if I can remove it, will be a bonus

I believe it can be safely removed and that it it is an OEM thing, but don't quote me on it

Easier to wield it as a weapon to beat people with that way.


Oem cards sometimes have these if the cards are goiong to ship inside a prebuilt system, some of dells cases for instance have little tabs that the handle slots into, just making it more secure for shipping.

Full size/Extended cards have these so that they can fit in cases that have a full size card bracket at the front of the case. It just gives the back end some support so that the card doesnt bow due to the weight of the cooler/components.
