Been playing around with my 8800 today and have been gradually pushing it until i got to this

after 3dmark 06 the card peaked at about 63 degrees so i was just wondering if that was a safe enough temperature

yeah the temp is fine....you can go up to about 80-90, but i wouldn't want to go above that. mines usually idle 50-55 in a cool room and about 60-70 under load depending on the game.

Great clocks, temp is no problem
Have you tried a higher shader with a lower memory ?
I'd see if you can hit 1700 on the shader and lower memory to 2000
I can't regardless but their are some that can

I shall give it a go now :D

EDIT - I dropped the clock down to 350 and the mem to 1000 and put the shader up but it got about 1/4 of the way through the first 3Dm06 gfx test before artifacting and then eventually crashing :(

However i do have it now running stable at 670/1635/1065 so i'll try and push the shader up from there :)

Nice, my BFG with a Thermalright cooler will only get upto 660 on the core, it won't do anymore. Must be power starved at that point!
