I hope this is the right place for this question?

I purchased the OcUK Tech Labs 240mm Extreme CPU Liquid Cooling Upgrade Bundle a while a back for one of my machines.
I selected the AMD retention kit because the it's an AMD A3 machine.

The OcUK AIO mouunting kit consists of just four mounting posts and the knurled knobs for locking down the pump retention plate to the top of the processor.

I assumed that these four posts would mount into a standard AMD plastic back plate on the back of the motherboard - am I right? The threads on the posts will not screw into the back plate that I have. Are there different types of plate?
The posts have two threads on them, one of which fits the knurled nuts perfectly, the other don't fit the nuts that are in the back plate.

I guess my question is do you stock a suitable back plate that I could purchase so I can mount the cooler?
Or should one have been deployed with the kit?

The board previously had a Noctua air cooler on it and the back plate for that only has unthreaded holes through it so I can't use that either.

Any help appreciated here. I have pictures of the mount kit parts that I do have if I can work out how to post them to the forum.

Ok,

here are the parts that I received in the AMD mounting kit

Anytime I have fitted a aftermarket cooler to a AMD board I have always had to remove the AMD retention plate and use the backplate that came with the cooler. What board do you have and your piccy doesn't work.

Here are the kit parts bolted together on top of the back plate

and these are the threads that don't fit the nuts in the back plate (which wasn't part of the kit)

AAArrrrgggghhhh more piccies gone up while I was typing!! Is it a different thread altogether on the posts that are supposed to fit the backplate? Are you sure they don't need a bit of downward force to engage? Dont try to hard though or you may cross thread them.

Maybe it's worth opening a thread and posting those pictures in the customer services section at the top of the forum.

Hopefully the pics are sorted now?

pastymuncher: I know what you mean but I didn't get one in the kit so I'm a bit stuck at the minute on what I should be doing? raise a webnote?

The threads on the posts are defintely different from the threads in the back plate, but like I say the backplate is just one I had in a box because the kit came without. I'll see if I can get any joy from customer service...

Thanks

I would open a thread in the customer service section along with the piccies and as much info as possible. Hopefully Bailey can sort you out. I am not sure but you may be missing a backplate that should have come with it.
