OcUK and laptop "customisation"

Hi,

sorry for the rather dumb question but I've browsed a bit around and I couldn't find a clear answer.

I have noticed this laptop which seems to have a good price for the specifications (by the way, any comments about it? I don't play highly demanding games -I could survive with a 7th gen Intel and a GTX 850M until recently, after all :p but I hope it's not going to become obsolete too soon), but I'd like to have more storage (let's say 512Gb+1Tb, or 2Tb). Does Overclockers allow for such limited customisation for laptops or it's something that I need to do from my side after I receive the product?

Thanks!

you underestimate my skills of messing up a laptop :D

(I actually don't know how delicate it is to install a second storage drive on a laptop -a supposed expert did it with my old laptop and created a lot of problems, half of the keyboard stopping working, webcam stopped working..., so I'm a bit cautious with a brand new laptop)

I've opened up several laptops first time and did various upgrades no problems.

All you need is the correct size screwdriver and a YouTube video of a teardown or upgrade of your laptop.

All your doing is removing all the screws underneath. Removing the cover. Slotting the new hard drive into the empty space and then putting the cover back on.

The keyboard is on the other side and nothing else should be touched or removed.

I have a related question... The storage specs of the laptop say "Up to two drives, 1x 2.5" HDD + 1x M.2 2242/2280 SSD"

The one I bought comes with a M.2 SSD so I have the 2.5" slot available.
The storage support description does say "2.5" HDD up to 1TB" but can I put a 2.5" SSD instead?

Yes. And your better off putting an SSD in there rather than a HDD.

SSD uses less power so more battery life.

SSD is faster.

SSD gives off less heat so laptop will run cooler.

I don't know why it would be limited to 1TB. It's possible it can only take 6mm drives rather than 8mm or something you may want to Google the model number and look at Reddit results for HDD or ssd upgrades.

Or put the model number into YouTube and see what turns up.

I've just looked at the link.

There are far better laptops available for cheaper.

Gigabyte g5 is on pre order at ocuk.
