Hi everyone.. i have a new ATI Radeon HD 6850 OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card and it keeps stoping ..well windows keeps saying your ati keeps stoping but has recovered .. have i got a faulty card...John

Have you updated to the latest drivers? Is your power supply up to the job? What temperature is the card running at (it will tell you in the Catalyst Control Centre)? It's possible that you have a faulty card but it's best to exhaust other possibilities first.

Quick sanity check ... have you tried to overclock this using smartdoctor or something like that? If so check what freq etc its currently set up to as looks like smartdoctor retains the last freq set across reboots.

Anyway, behaviour you are seeing is what happens when you push the OC slightly too far.

N.b. if you are using smartdoctor make sure you download latest version from Asus site as the version that came on CD with my 6850OC wasn't able to adjiust the voltages (at stock voltage it went to 960MHz though!)

I had this with my 6870, a windows bubble saying that i display driver failed and has been recoverd. i had some 5450 drivers on there and i think they just buggered eachother, i had to remove CC and delete all ATI files and remove all driver paths so that my comp didn't have a clue any dirvers for it exsisted. i then got the latest ones for my system of AMD website.
