So im looking at a few monitors on the clearance line and they are quite noticeably cheaper than their brand new counterparts...
So my question to you is what is the difference?? will it arrive with 183487 dead pixels (exaggerated...) or will it arrive with a slightly damaged box but everything else be perfect?
The monitors in question are as follows:

Im basically looking to make a choice between them all, and so far im edging towards either the ultrawide or the 1440p as 4k involves a lot of upgrading and spending that i dont want to do... But it is still an option
Just give me a rough idea of what im looking to receive and how bad the problem will be... If one is there...

Hope you can help me out
Many thanks in advance

Unfortunately you can't really tell if there's going to be anything wrong with it since that's the direct risk you take in buying B-Grade monitors, although you do get a standard 90-day warranty if you do experience any problems. As far as I'm aware on the forums it's been generally advised not to buy B-Grade monitors specifically, not entirely sure on that though.

Hmm, im not sure what to do, as i want the LG flatron ultrawide or the Acer K272HUL and they are like £70 cheaper than their full priced ones... what does the warranty cover?

Not sure. Post a thread over in the CS section and they'll probably be able to help you out

I got the flatron ultrawide b-grade a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier with it. Was missing a couple leads and screws bit everything else was fine.
Don't know if this reflects normal b grades but its my 2 cents.

what leads? like hdmi etc? or power cable? and were you able to buy the screws from elsewhere?

I've just bought the AOC 4K monitor. It arrived in an original box (a little rough around the edges) but well packaged, as far as I can tell the only missing item was the power cable and Ocuk sent me one out the next day. The monitor itself was immaculate, no marks, scratches etc, no dead pixels or backlight bleed. All the stickers were still on the front bezel. I suspect this monitor was returned because of the known flickering problem when at 4K@60Hz using an Amd video card. So all in all I feel I got a very good buy for £299, provided of course the flickering issue is fixed. :)

I have two of those LG Flatron 29UM65-P 29's..very nice monitors , in fact one of them is a B-Grade ..and both are just perfect ..cant tell any difference between one being new and one being B-Grade :)

I use a DVI-D lead on each .

That was the one im looking at, but its really quite sad because i have a 290 :'( and if its flickering that will just annoy me i think, though i probably wont be aware of it lol

Oh you will be aware of it alright, its not watchable its so bad, but only at 60Hz. Apparantly there is a fix in Amd drivers 14.7 RC3
which I havn't tried yet. I am currently using 4K@30Hz for everyday stuff and it does look amazing. I have contacted AOC re the flickering problem and await a reply. If there is no satisfactory conclusion then I will return under DSR or 90day warranty as without 4K@60Hz this monitor is not fit for purpose. This would be a pity as I really like it. Would like some input from the AOC REP

have you not got the latest 14.9.2? im sure it would be fixed?

Is the fix in 14.7 RC3 in subsequent driver releases as I am now on 14.9? :)

Actually I think I can answer my own question, no fix in 14.9 as I have the flickering. Oops. :o
