OcUK Build Logs

@ sharpygsxr

cheers - took long enough!

[good game on left for dead last night btw, shame we both died at the end...]

the 280s have not been clocked as they are factory clocked anyway
we could have pushed them more but it wasnt required tbh

the full spec is now in the post - get your reading glasses on

[imagine my face when all those boxes arrived on my bench! ;)]

u2 mate was a right laugh.

I take t your not really meant to mention the price in these build logs, cuz i think its interesting to see what kinda price these guys are paying for machines like the last one.

i cant really do that - the last epic build thread got deleted as it turned into a thread full of arguments over money etc

this thread should be about hardware appreciation and also to give customers a general idea of what to expect when ordering their system from us

as Yewen correctly said earlier in the thread -
we are now producing systems that excede the time and care put in by most people building their own machines.

more out of courtesy for the customers, its best if money isn't mentioned - im sure you could estimate the cost :D

EDIT

Sorry for double post:(

How much would that system cost?

here is what i have been waiting to show you

one of my builds :)

the system that took three and a half days to build

heres the spec -from memory...

Fantastic stuff! More than convinced me to buy a pre-built from OcUK when I get the money together. :D

Cheeky question? If the required parts aren't available for a build? How long does it generally take to get them in?

great - glad you are liking the systems

it does depend on a few things - like how often we use the product
like we ran out of antec 300's and they were in next day

where as something like an 18w ddc liang pump would take a little longer - it all depends on suppliers as with any business

all i can say is you wouldnt be waiting long :)

Fantastic. :)

Just need to wait for the site to be sorted and pay day, then I'll be ordering. :D

Cheers!

looks amazing, nice one. I thought my 2 Tb was a lot, now i wish i had 12+ Tb storage.

out of curiosity, how loud is it when its idle/load, i cant tell if all the fans would make the spin speed for each fan low enough to outweigh the shear number of fans there are.

the fans are whisper quiet but push a lot of air
if you turn the fan controller up then obviously it gets noisy

it is such a quiet system - the acoustipak extra helps a lot too

it takes a long time to load windows as the raid card needs to sync the drives

but when you are in windows it is RAPID
we installed vantage and it was literally done in 5 seconds

the 4 intel ssd's run off the board and the seagate drives off the RAID card

we had to get asus to write a bios to make the rampage work with the raid card

pretty crazy - they thought i was joking when i called them up with the specs - then they handed me over to their bios dev team - they went through a few to get the raid card working and had to wait to get hold of the raid card from adaptec so they could test it in Tiawan

needless to say - myself and Yewen were both scratching our heads for a bit over that!!!

Just ordered an Ultima Edge Core i7 Custom as a treat to myself. :D

Can't wait now!

Email me your name/order No
and I will see what I can do for you.

if im not on repairs i will build it for you and get some pics :)
