Rich that build is outstanding:eek: No wonder OCUK is leaps and bounds ahead of other pc builders!!

Question when you have installed the OS do you do a full windows update? Also with mobo, gfx and sound card drivers do you download the latest drivers from there web sites?.......Or use the drivers that come on the cd's?

It's so tidy! You've done an incredible job, and I can't wait to get my hands on it, and I've no doubt that I'll be extremely happy. :D

Many many many thanks again. :D

can I be cheeky and ask how much that system cost you?

As rjkoneill would rather keep the thread about the hardware (which I understand completely), I won't quote the actual price I paid. :) Here's the spec I selected so you can look it up on the site if you're really interested though. :)

It's a Ultima Edge Core i7 Custom from the System Configurator

Silverstone Temjin TJ07B with Window - Black
Intel Core i7 940 2.93GHz Processor
OcUK Expert Overclocking
Akasa AK-967 Nero Core i7 Performance Cooler
Asus P6T Deluxe Intel X58 DDR3 Motherboard
6GB Triple Channel DDR3
Nvidia GeForce GTX 280 1024MB GDDR3
Nvidia GeForce GTX 280 1024MB GDDR3
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM SATA-II
Pioneer 20x DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter
Corsair TX 750W Power Supply
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit
Kaspersky Internet Security 2009

I think that's right anyway. :)

we have a choice of cases - whichever one suits your needs

as mentioned earlier in the thread - we are avoiding prices and talk of money as threads like that soon turn into arguments full of money

its more courteous to the customer to not mention it

and saves the thread getting out of hand - its all about hardware appreciation! :D

give us a call when you are ready to order and we will get something together to suit your needs

remember to post up in this thread if you are buying a system and want pics posting :D

Yeah just read what rjkoneill said :o will look now thanks for the help.

This is a really good thread - I used to be a PC builder at a busy computer shop and it was a great feeling to do a good job of building up a system for an excited customer!

Do OcUK system builders get training on how to make the builds so neat and tidy? Out of interest, what tests do you run on the systems before you let them out of the door?

ordered my system hopefully if the engineer is reading

i give your permission to post photo's & could you use RED L.E.D Fans?

the saleswomen on the phone did not know i could add extras or upgrade the PSU

when i asked for extras "we cant do that" i didnt have time to ask her for photo/Red L.E.D Fans

so if the rjkoneill is listening my email is smogsy [at] gmail.com you should be able to look up my build & start Building :D

I mostly train the new guys how to build neat systems, Rich wasn't so hard as he already had the skills from building his personal pcs.

The systems undergo Prime 95 testing, Furmark and Sandra soft before shipping.

The computers we have back are due to taking knocks during transit, mainly gfx issues,
so if a large card is installed we usually ask the customer to install on site (cables, screws, drivers already installed)
as it saves the card and motherboard from being damaged during transit.

It's a bit like when you receive a washing machine you have to do a little DIY before installing.

I think OcUK should open a Midlands branch, I could do with a job like this as my previous work as a "tech guy" for that purple-signed-highstreet-monstrosity almost killed any desire of mine to ever look at PC hardware ever again, which is a shame as I was damn good.

Out of interest. How many boxes is a complete system shipped in? One big one? Or a couple?

Thanks. :)

the build had a £800+ RAID card - the 12TB of storage were ran off that [burst rate was immense, like quicker than DDR2!]

the 4 intel SSD's were ran off the board in RAID for the OS

the system is RAPID - but im sure you guessed that

How fast did it boot off those RAIDed SSDs? I assume they were in 0+1?

he wouldnt admit this to my face though :D

depends on how big the pc is - but we put ample padding in to protect the computer as best we can

the raid ssd's are fast as hell

but the system took a while to boot dude to the raid card needing to sync the other 8 hard drives

the customer is talking of upgrading the raid and graphics cards....
