If you do buy seperate we will help you o/c as long as read up and get the basics down we will help. i7 are very easy to clock up 4ghz even a trained money can do it...sorry RJ :p

Its an interesting idea. For the above reasons it's flawed; it isn't one set of bios settings which works for everything. In practice it's probably one set which they then work from to get it stable.

However, were you to call up and order one of their bundles with a better cooler, I'm certain that would be fine. If you ask to buy one of their bundles with a more crap fan, that's not going to work.
 
Thanks for the replies, this is for a build im going to start mildly in the future from now, so I'll probably be back to ask about the actual OCing.

How about a good CPU cooler? Is the one in the above link good? For me it looks huge and quiet, that must mean it's good!!! Hah.

Also, I'm assuming it's worth getting some decent TIM for the obvious reason that it'll work better?
 
why not have a bundle from us [you get the warranty and the overclock]

you can call our sales team and get them to put whatever cooler you want on there

in many cases i have done bundles where i have fitted cpu waterblocks for customers or people have ordered a TRUE instead of a noctua

the best thing to do is call our sales team and they will run the suggestions by me to see if the specified cooler is up to the job :)
 
Whenever you're ready to buy the stuff, there's a bunch of good people here who can help you spec components for you depending on the kind of RIG you want, be it AMD or Intel. So, try to read on the different categories of the components in this forum as that will give you some sort of an idea of what to pursue when you finally decide to build your RIG. Trust me, it's a lot more fun and educational too.:D

Yeah I've been doing my research (visiting this forum a lot) and I pretty much know what I'm going for, but this is the only kinda grey area left for me. I haven't built a computer up for about 6 years and I've not overclocked one before.

I'm waiting a month or so still so I've got the money for a good system.

Glad to know there is some personalisation available in the bundles tho :)

I called the sales team once for the same reason to change the cooler in a bundle, they were rude, unintrested and didt want to know. Shame because the people that i have spoke inc your self have always been great. i only order from the web page now ho hum
