That's because nobody is in.... except me lol If more people went in it there will be posts.
What's the point in a chatroom? We'll have unstructured conversations with one sentance answers, people posting LOL LOL all the time, and you'd just lose track of the discussion. I remember the days when AOL chatrooms were booming, now...they're not! Forums allow for separation of topics, structured answers, images etc.
You can also tell people on forums that you want to slap them with a wet fish you if you miss IRC!
