Good to see some sensible UK pricing at last and just in time for Christmas. Retail 9700K is now £15 cheaper than I paid to import one at launch.

@Gibbo - I just purchased the 9900k and for some reason the intel starter pack only contains cod 4 and nothing else. Is there anything I need to do to get the remaining items?

Intel have run out of remaining items it seems and I’m informed there is nothing they can do as it’s a free promotion with limited availability. All they have communicated is COD4 aspect is still active. Seems a bit off and miss leading when I’m back in office late next week I’ll update the Intel Pack to just show COD4 and then if there is any other extras it’s a bonus.

OcUK is cheapest on 9th gen and still has this pack though admittedly the full contents are no longer available it seems but I know soon our codes will be fully depleted so there will not be any free COD4 for much longer and the prices will go back up soon to be in line with competitors.

That first 16GB of RAM seems to be the best pricing in the UK for 16GB of 3000Mhz RAM. Best deal on this page IMO. Let's hope we get more like this in 2019.

Interesting to see retail availability now at £454-474, seems to be falling week after week. So no need to get an OEM CPU with a one year warranty, helps if selling it on especially. :)

But over the festive break we sold 130pc retail and 210pc tray, but today we have sold 37pc retail versus 31pc tray, so a swing towards retail today.

Whichever way we look at it in December we did triple the revenue on CPU compared to last December, CPU business is bonkers at moment for both Intel and AMD, so I am very happy. :)

Indeed, higher priced CPU's will help the revenue that is for certain. I guess most of the extra sales will be down to people getting into gaming at the lower end of the market also, Ryzen 2600 is the best selling mid-entry level enthusiast CPU worldwide currently I am sure your figures of volume of those CPU's pretty much matches the trend also.

OcUK is a little different the normal trends, due to our high-end and specialist appeal, we also buck the trend on VGA sales as well by having such good AMD share.
But yes AMD 2600 volumes are fantastic, but we match that volume with 2700X and 9900k.

For OcUK our best selling CPU's volume wise are 2700X, 2600, 1600X, 9900k, 9700k, 9600k, 8700k, 8400 and 8100.

I don't doubt you attract a slightly higher level of user with regards to the more expensive CPU's, but if those you have listed are in order of volume moved vs. value then it shows just how much of an impact AMD has had this year, and the value proposition has clearly won out against those that are more conscious of budget, while losing little to nothing in the way of performance for the most part.

2019 is going to be a massive year again for CPU's (well at least for one of the suppliers), as I see Intel have now confirmed that supplies constraint is going to likely carry into H2 '19, for OEM, unsure if they are further reducing the retail supply chain quantities.

With NAND prices failing massively, and another 10-15% expected to be coming off them in the first quarter of 2019, and DDR4 RAM pricing also still on the decline, the only over priced part that will be left is the Nvidia GPU, but since AMD seem to have the mid-range sewn up with 570/580/590 cards, now is a great time to be building and selling computers, especially those who are new to them, or haven't thought about upgrading since the 2500K days.

They are not ordered by demand, just the popular ones, as in all do over 100+ units per month, some 1k plus. But the list is random.

Yes NAND is getting cheap, DDR4 has dropped loads but the drops are becoming smaller and smaller now, there were some increases last week but that was just due to XMAS break.

Yes our Citizen PC system is our best selling PC, has a 2600 and RX 590 in it with VEGA 56 upgrade.

It's a great PC for the price, but I cannot forgive the lack of SSD in this day and age, it is simply inexcusable and makes it seriously slower than in needs to be. £18 for 128GB SSD, drop the 2TB to 1TB, seems like it would be a much better system, and as a seller of quality systems I'd think making sure the customer/end user gets the best performance and value that would be priority. :)

Most customers option it and when they do we set it as primary OS drive. We find when we default storage to 1G it harms sales more. The customers who buy systems from us are not as DIY savvy generally, particular at lower end, so they just respond to headline figures better, once they are into the configurator they then see the true options and we find most customers option a 256G or 512G SSD with around 60% sticking with RX 590 and the other 40% upgrading to the Vega 56, a few also pick the 16G upgrade. :)

Its a very popular system with over 100 sold last week alone, which is quite unusual due to builds department not been active so longer ETAs, though were back to full speed now. :)
