OcUK competitor rant

I wont mentioned names.
Twice now I've ordered from a certain website where an item has shown as being in stock, for next day delivery. Great, I order
I receive am email with the order status and 'Estimated Delivery Date' of next day, payment comes out and all is good.
Then I check the order the next day and it's still 'awaiting picking' on the day of delivery (when I've made arrangements to be a home)
Call said competitor, on hold for 10 minutes to be told its not in stock.

Anyone experienced similar with OcUK competitors? Never had this issue with OcUK

I can only think its an archaic stock system where it takes an age to update stock levels. Though more likely to leave items showing as 'in stock' to get orders through the door, even if they are not really in stock.

sorry but this is a very common problem everywhere, ocuk emailed just last week after i ordered to say something was not in stock even though the website said it was when i ordered and paid.
The big rainforest store never seems to have this problem. I order something with 'delivery membership' and it almost always turns up when its supposed to. Be it the same day at 11pm or the next day
If not, I ring and say I pay a premium for deliveries to be on time and they give me a free month (or free 3 months) of delivery membership if it's not

Do any other companies offer premium delivery services and/or correct stock information?

I think I know which competitor you may mean... I bought a CPU from a company a few years ago and it was stuck on "awaiting picking" for days with no contact.

I rang them and they said they block first purchases on new accounts to prevent fraud...
Same with my 5800X. Awaiting picking for a week?! …then it updated to in a waiting list! I was fuming. Should have learnt my lesson really

I've had this happen on OCUK quite a bit in the past which is why I took a long hiatus ordering from here and still often don't.
It's a shame because I would always order from here before that and it was probably just a spell they were going through, but this sort of thing does put you off and it takes a while to trust them again.
Same for me with said OcUK competitor.

An item was showing as available and 'in stock' on the competitor website but I ordered elsewhere at an increased price that had guaranteed next day (Sunday) delivery.
I could have ordered at the cheaper place but then had to wait which it was 'awaiting picking' and delivered late (or never as per happened in the past with a 5800X from there)
