Quite a few people have now received their laptops but I know quite a few people are asking questions about them. I have gone through the other thread again from start to finish to try and dig out all the questions and hopefully answer them. If there's anything been missed or something new you want to ask then feel free and I will try to add on.

Separate Barebones
It is unlikely at the moment as we are using all of our stock for builds. In the future it may be something we will look at again as I know some people like to save a bit of cash and do it themselves.

WXGA+ 1440x900 Panels
We have just received notification that the WXGA+ panels are available on both 15.4" and 17". The majority of the Ultima Mobiles sold so far have all been WSXGA+ but I'd be interested to here how many would prefer the WXGA+ compared to the WSXGA+.

Battery Options
We can order additional batteries and will be doing so for all models on our next order which we will be doing in the next day or two.

Dead Pixels
We have no plans to offer a zero pixel warranty and dead pixels will be as per ISO 13406-2 so will depend on what resolution screen you have.

SLi Graphics/Dual HDD
A unit with this specification is available. It has dual graphics, three hard drive bays with RAID capability and uses LGA775 processors. They are very expensive and the battery life is pretty much non-existant which has why we have not started doing this model. They have a new model available next year but it's basically going to be along the same lines. If we get enough people asking about the current model then we would be willing to look at this.

500GB Drives
We will be offering both 400GB and 500GB options from Western Digital in the next few days.

Turbo Memory
The majority of the units will allow you to put an Intel Turbo memory module in but we haven't added this option at the moment as it isn't proven to have a great effect on performance. If there's enough people who want them though then we can easily get hold of them and supply them to existing customers.

9800M GT
I have been informed that this is no longer available from Nvidia and is officially end of life. Both Clevo and Nvidia have confirmed this. Any other notebook vendors selling this product simply have older stock.

Upgrading
All models of laptops can be upgraded very easily. The most obvious options are HDD, RAM, CPU and Optical as long as they have the correct interface. On the models that have dedicated graphics they are physically upgradable by changing the card in the MXM slot but you need to make sure that the heatsink fits the card as these will vary in layouts. OcUK cannot guarantee any upgrades you make yourself. We are in discussions to sell the graphics cards themselves at a later date as well but we will be getting the actual laptops off the ground before this happens.

Drivers
A driver CD with XP/Vista 32/Vista 64 drivers are included with every laptop.

Warranty
All laptops will have a 2 year warranty with OcUK (6 months on the battery) rather than directly with the manufacturer meaning you receive a good service from us rather than having to wait for it to be sent to the Far East.

Memory
The DDR3 systems are currently using PC3-10666 DDR3 and the DDR2 is PC2-5300C5. Manufacturers will vary over time but it will all be well known memory vendors such as OCZ and Crucial.

Battery Life
On the Ultima Mobile's people are currently getting around 2 hours of battery life. This can be made longer by reducing screen brightness and turning certain parts of the laptop off. The other models we will have to test ourselves to see what is the maximum battery life we can achieve with each model.

Powerbrick Size
I haven't got the exact measurements at this very moment in time but I know on the Ultima models they are approx 15cm x 6cm x 3cm.

ATI Options
We are currently speaking to ATi to try and find out about 4000 Series Mobility products as these shouldn't be too far away. Once we get more of an idea when they are available we will most definitely be offering this in the units.

Netbooks
We have two options available to us which are basically along the lines of:
- 7": Atom Z540 / Screen (With/Without Touchpanel) / Wireless / BT / Cam / GPS / Fingerprint / Card Reader
- 10" Atom N270 / BT / Wireless / Cam / Fingerprint / Card Reader and something not widely seen on Netbooks - an optical drive!

More 17" Models
This is something we will be hoping to have on our next order as we appriciate that not everyone can afford a 9800M GTX :)

SPDIF
All models stocked by OcUK have an SPDIF port available.

Glossy/Matte Screens
Models stocked currently are using the glossy screens but if we get enough demand for Matte screens in the future then again we will re-evaluate.

Extended Warranties
We will be looking at offering 3-5 Year extended warranties in the near future and hopefully also extend this to our desktop systems at the same time.

Weights
From the units we've built so far we know that the Ultima Mobiles are between 3-4kg depending what the specification is. In the near future I will build a mixture of systems and have maybe a minimum/maximum weight to make it easier for customers to know what this is. Other models we will do in the very near future.

Can this be purchased by existing custom laptop owners, or will it only apply to new orders?

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on any netbook developments. I would be very interested in the 10" model, so long as the keyboard is a similar size the the advent 4211 or Asus EEE 1000, it comes with an windows XP option and it is a similar price to existing 10" netbooks.

I suggest a 10" model with GPS and 3G (or whatever is current) built in modem.
I'm assuming the optical drive would be built-in - would there be an option to replace this with an extra battery?

carnt wait for the netbooks i have been holding off getting one as all the ones i have looked at come with a down side or something missing so i think the 7" will b wkd i cant wait :D
