Christmas has in FACT come early for me this year.

With the wide availability of the EVGA SR-2 again, a lot of air cooled SR2 builds have been showing up on our ‘to do’ list.

this particular one caught my eye and with an outrageous 'NathWraith Special' being put down on paper, the initial design for this system had been put into place a while ago. The customer has opted for the best of everything which really required a lot of skill and expertise to set up.

Nath has done an outstanding job of putting together a formidable specification that not only presents superb value to the customer but means that he will in fact have one of the best personal computer systems in the country.

No expense has been spared and strict requirements have been highlighted to make this system fit the customer’s requirements perfectly.

If you have a custom spec in mind or even fancy making changes to a system on our website, why not call our sales team?
Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will be able to advise the best hardware for your requirements.

Just installing Windows and Configuring the system at the moment. Will update this post with some benchmarks and stats from the system once it is clocked and ready to go
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask :)

It is a system a customer has ordered.

no, its mine now.
I have decided.

looks amazing very tidy, are the ek cpu blocks inlet and lotlet specific? is that why you looped them with the outer barbs? just would have looked neater looping the inner 2 i would have thought?

indeed it would, but they are inlet/outlet specific so they need to be in a certain order.

googlay - the watercooled version of the board is overpriced. we could have fitted the EK sr2 blocks we have in stock but the customer did not require them

we only put 2 580s in because any more is wasted.
sure triSLI looks good on paper but considering my single GTX480 plays EVERYTHING at 2560X1600 resolution, i dont see the point in more than 1 580.

price tag ? ,lovely build btw very impressive piece of kit :)

^im going to guess £5000-6000

around that yes, obviously customisation adds a bit to that total.

What are the chances of shipping damaging this?

(GPU, pump bouncing about)

normally systems like this are shipped via private courier or marked down for shop collection.

our policy is that we do not ship systems with GPU blocks as they are far too heavy.

Also, you say that your single 480 plays everything, but does it play everything (inc. Crysis and Metro 2033) on the maximum possible settings at 2560*1600 with 60fps average framerates? I'd guess not, but so many people seem to say that their Nvidia 260 still plays EVERYTHING at maximum settings (ok, I MAY have over exaggerated with the "260" bit) I'm just wondering what I'm doing wrong.

surprisingly, yes

i turn the DX11 off in metro as all it does is half the framerate and honestly, i cant tell the difference.

the game looks phenominal anyway [which reminds me, i must complete it!] so a nice smooth 50-60fps is perfectly acceptable with DX10 on max settings.

crysis and warhead both look superb, pulling in around 45 and 50 fps averages respectively.
i really cant see any reason to consider SLI or an an upgrade.
bear in mind that my 480 does run at 900mhz and my 5680 at 4.6ghz
so that certainly helps :D

i certainly wouldnt turn down a system like this, but my point is that i play at the biggest res you can get. short of going dual/triple screen there really isnt anything more demanding.
i may invest in a cheap 2nd 480 for the release of BF3 next year or just get a new gpu.

its certainly interesting to see performance for yourself and I am lucky to be in a position where I get to play with the latest hardware and be my own judge without having to rely on reviews and stats from websites.

there was a few unavoidable angles needed to be used in the system.

problem is we only have bitspower rotaries which ek barbs dont screw into properly. [and leak]

ive never had 7/16 work loose from an ek barb [obviously prefer the dtek hosetail over the ek design]

they both clock at the same time using the same bclk and ratio

cool thing is, if one cpu is a duffer then you can choose to put more vcore through one if required.

frequencies are linked but voltages are seperated
