I didn't get much sleep last night (not helped by Radio 4 coming on at 6.00am!), so I was a bit late getting down to breakfast, which was nice considering the price of the room.

Still, I enjoyed the meeting and now have a few faces to put to the names. :)

:p

Indeed I feel I should apologise for girling out big time later on
I'll get in some training for next time - Stan suggested that 6 months ought just about do it :D

/note to self - don't try to match a Jock drink for drink :p

Hehe. At least you didn't end up like this guy ay

Glad I actually met up with everyone this time, was a good night.

And I agree, the breakfast was good for the price of the room. I went down for breakfast early, I got up at about 8 and couldnt get back to sleep.

[rant] Something I ate yesterday wanted to come out of my chest alien-parasite style so I spent the whole night up with stomach cramps and didn't sleep a wink. Gave up at 7am and just went walking in the rain (past the local hospital, just in case). Never, ever, had it that bad before.

Finally started settling down about 10am and I slept until 4pm and am now fine. A bit of a bad ending to an otherwise excellent day, but there we are. :( [/rant]

hahahaha - how did he get on with the half dozen random girls who were working him for drinks when I left? :D
Was I hallucinating or was that pub really full of life-size cartoon/film characters? :D

Sorry to hear you had a stormy night of it 'serker - wouldn't have thought it was the BK since most of us ordered the exact same thing :p

Oops, forgot to post in here after the event :o

Had a smashing night. Thanks guys :)

In true Bigstan style, I managed to get lost trying to find my way back to the hotel and had to pay some small boys to show me the way. Felt a bit self-conscious handing money over to three 12 year old boys outside a hotel :o

I must have eaten something on my way back as there was a small plastic bag and a napkin beside the bed in the morning but I have no recollection of what it may have been - no obvious after-effects though so it must have been ok :p

Hotel room was pretty good for £70, nice and roomy with a decent sized bed. The staff were friendly and polite - nice hotel.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing considering it cost me £16 - the suasages and bacon had been kept warm for hours by the look of it and were tough and wrinkled.

All in all, an enjoyable experience and nice to meet you guys at last. We must do it again some time.

QFT :p

I didn't bother with the brekkie myself though you'd think if you'd paid that and specified a time for it the least they could do was not kill it with fire :o

...as for the three little boys is it possible you bought the plastic bag and napkin from them at the same time as getting directions? Maybe some kind of special offer? :D
