just been out for a spirited drive and came across a 306 estate in the fast lane, he kindly pulled over then attached himself to my rear bumper, no probs, drop a cog, achieve close to marty mcfly speed quickly, still there, proceed onwards with heavy right foot upto an innacurately displayed 150km/h (speedo must overread as I never exceed limits) and he is still very much next to me...

few more miles of similar driving and this thing is still all over me.

what in gods green earth is under the bonnet of this thing???

on askmid its a 306 meridian, now unless my car is running on two cylinders I'm confident its far from normal, driver gave me a little toot and a wave so must have enjoyed our encounter!

if I'd be in the 911 that would have explained everything as it doesnt move very well unless its on a hill

would that be able to achieve 150-160mph? not that we got close to those speeds but I'm guessing thats what it could do looking at his rev gauge and the gear he was in....

definitely a sleeper, looked bog standard apart from a slightly larger bore exhaust (functional not chavvy) and xenon lights. I tried to take a peek at his calipers/discs (always a good sign imo) but things were a bit hairy so I gave the road my full attention.

captured the whole thing on my roadhawk but I'm not uploading it for obvious reasons

oh and it sounded well as it went past, screaming valves aplenty!

I suppose thats pretty similar in terms of speed to mine, I'm guessing it has a sixth cog too which might explain his top end?
