hey guys, ive been sat hovering over the buy button on my i7 with gtx260 upgrade from current system in spec. n well i just cant decide.

whats the deadline on orders placed to ensure they are delivered next day? so tommorow (friday).

I ordered some of my stuff at 5 on weekday and got an email saying they had been dispatched and shipped about 30 mins after so i am guessing around 5 on a weekday

Yeah I suppose even if it is over the deadline, you might get lucky if the pickup is late or the shop isn't too busy and they're able to get it out in time.

thansk guys, dont suppose u could also give me a nudge with whether its worth the upgrade 8800gt, pci 1.1 motherboard and q6600 to the i7, sli/Xfire 2.0 board and gtx260? :P i just cant decide whether to plunge :(

i know but i was going to sell this setup n thats how id fund the i7 upgrade. out of my bank the i7 would cost me 560. 660 if i decide to throw in the antec 900-2 because i think the sonata or super lanboys might be a bit squashed with the gtx260... aswell as crap airflow.

arghh decisions haha

perosnall opinion, i wouldnt waste the £550 and just get XFX 4870 and another 2GB ram for £210 and that will keep you going for a while.

Maybe a blue ray drive for movies?

What size screen do oyu have?

Agreed, you've got a Q6600 sitting at 3.4ghz, which aint too bad, so you probably wouldn't see a huge difference between that and i7, especially in games. So save your money, get either the GTX 260 or the 4870 mentioned and an extra 2gb of ram. Both of them will make a big difference.

^ Especially seen as how games are only just THINKING about making themselves for Quad, GTA4 is the only one I know of in the mainstream. So I7 isn't going to be usful enough for the money, yet.

Q6600 is on air.

22" monitor.

the reason im considering this option is because my dad said hell give me 400 for this entire setup n ill get his 620w corsair modular aswelll (nice guy i know) so im figuring just to give myslef a bit of headroom future wise id just do the big jump to I7 so ive got some manouvering space when upgrading later as it wont cost me as much because ill have the pci 2.0 motherboard and x58 chipset. aswell as ddr3 and a 620w psu compared to my 485w now...

plus the poor dads sat on a single core cpu with ddr and a radeon 9800xt... its a slug of a machine :|

its all relative to the situation at hand. not just a simple i want to upgrade to I7 :P but rather would it be better in the long run.

arctic freezer pro 7. it got a little toasty for my liking going mid 70's in prime on 3.4ghz 1.35v. so ive since knocked it to 1.29v and got it at 3.3 steady n mid 60's on prime. its a weird jump in volts i thought. but it works... :S

haha, my 2nd hdd went yesterday morning. i was all setn happy to order my computer n turned on my pc n it started whirring n clicking n all sorts. got recommended to try HD tune's error scan, ran it. it got louder. then bam red boxes on the error check. my 2nd hdd hasn't booted up since. wish id gotten my personal files off it first before i ran the error scan. only boguht the damn thing 3 months ago.
