OCUK dispatch times - anyone know the answer?

I wouldn't worry, I ordered my ssd and some cables etc at 4:56pm on a Friday, and they arrived on the Monday, if I can remember correctly tracking didn't update till Sunday evening. So hopefully you should get it on Monday :) although I did get a dispatch email shortly after ordering...

That would be nice but I've not had a dispatch email. :(

How about...It's FREE delivery???

If it comes Monday, it comes Monday. :p

How about...just get out. :p ;)
As I said, if it was non business related then ah well, but it is and I have timescales to take into account.

How about. If it was business related, pay for some delivery if you have a time scale to keep to?

The way I think of it, it's free delivery, so it can take 2 days, or one week as far as I'm concerned. Be lucky you haven't had to pay for any.

Exactly, like my post says above I'm priced out of ordering from OCUK at the minute (for large items anyway) I'd kill for free delivery

I did consider paying for delivery but when I looked at the shipping options it said free delivery would come on Monday, not some random time in the next week - Monday. Delivery was also by DPD so I will know within an hour on Monday when it arrives, and it doesn't cost me extra. That's good business sense and convenient.

Except when it's not dispatched when it was promised - that's a problem.

I think that with Internet shopping people expect instant delivery even if it free.

I think people expect delivery to be when the company says it will be delivered. It wouldn't be any different if I had to book a day off work for the delivery and it wasn't dispatched when it was supposed to be.

"Free" is included in the price.
Exactly!

other etailers manage it
Again, spot on.

I think there are a lot of fanboys on here.

I'm not knocking OCUK, mistakes happen but it's fustrating when you have allowed for that delivery at a certain time.

A problem for you because your freely delivered item has missed it's date, yes :p

Either way, if you wanted it by a specific date with no / less chance of it missing the delivery date, you should pay for delivery. If for instance, it comes Tuesday, you can't exactly moan about it ;)

I don't know why I am even bothering to reply to this...

A delivery date was arranged through the calendar in the online ordering process, that date was Monday.

As far as I'm aware (hopefully I'm wrong) the items are still at the warehouse and haven't been dispatched. That means they don't arrive on the date that they were supposed to when I created the order.

Whether it's free delivery or not is irrelevant.

You can argue about it as much as you like that's the facts.

I know they're facts :)

Just amuses me when people moan (not you specifically) that an item they ordered via free delivery doesn't turn up on time.

:p

He's not moaning, he was more asking for clarification about it.

Also, free delivery is a privilege from being a community member, it is usually paid delivery. The privilege of free delivery should not come coupled with slacker service.

Note I'm not criticising OcUK here, more that you've taken it upon yourself to, in my opinion, have a go at the OP with invalid arguments when it's not necessary.

Merely putting my opinion across. If you want an item on a specific date, you pay for delivery to get it for that date. :)
Either way, OcUK's delivery service (previously, not ordered from them for a couple of years now) has always been bang on.

And if you READ my previous post, it even states "(not you specifically)"

It my be free, but it's on of the reasons we buy from OcUK!

Many other etailers similarly sized and bigger manage free delivery!

That being said, mistakes always happen, OcUK are amongst the best at sorting them out!

Defo :)

My original point was, if you wanted something by a specific date, I would have personally paid the extra to guarantee a delivery time. :)

It's kinda been blown out of proportion now :p Apologies OP, didn't mean to offend or dig at yourself.
