Delivered in superb Tech Labs branded packaging with matching high quality decals on the fan hub, the OcUK ZG3-120TL is perfect as a case fan, CPU Cooler fan or a watercooling radiator fan.

This fan has been specified to be used in conjunction with a fan controller for maximum user control and performance.

They look awefuly similar to another brand of fan I've seen before...

I'm happy OcUK are moving on with their own brand of stuff though!

they are Zaward.

Zaward are the OEM for Sharkoon who I assume is what you are talking about

HOWEVER: Zaward fans that Sharkoon rebrand as their own are Golf II fans.

Zaward use the newer, better Golf III design for themselves

...and us :p

probably a well known brand with ocuk sticker on.

see above :)

if you want mega quiet, then you need to be looking at noiseblocker blacksilent pro PL-1 or PL-2

they are super quiet and make decent case fan :)

or you could run these tech labs fans on a fan controller ;)

Far too loud

It was a conscious decision to get the fan at this specification. As I have mentioned, this fan is best ran on a fan controller so you can choose your noise level on the fly.

You can make a fast fan slower and quieter but you can't make a slow fan faster.

The other factor is that this fan is intended to be used in our full system range where the majority of cases in our range have inbuilt fan controllers so that end users can choose their fan speed.

Static Pressure: 0.98mmH20

Maybe remove the bit about it being perfect as a radiator fan..

Hi

we have had confirmation about the static pressure back from Zaward

3.48mmH20

:)

I have added it into the product description on the website

the ZG3-120TL fan is the exact same specification as the ZG3-120D.

I am fairly certain that the cleaner at Zaward would be the last person replying to emails from key partners.

As I dont have the specialist equipment used to measure fan static pressure I can only forward the information that the manufacturer has provided.

I will ask again to check if it is an oversight on their part.

but given that the noctua you refer to is 1500rpm and this is 2000rpm, The increased SP figure is not massively unbelievable.

if you could provide me with the link to this review, that would be very helpful as I would like to discuss it with Zaward and find out if there is a mistake here.

yeah, that is the 1000rpm one.

lets see what Zaward say as I'm only the messenger here.

We tested several models of fan samples before ordering and these were the fans that performed best.

not heard anything back but I have been out of the office since Thursday.

will try to chase it up tomorrow :)

Did I miss it? What fan controller are you currently running?

Good to see you are having success with them, we are having really positive feedback from users who have the fans installed in their OcUK systems too!

we dont have an ocuk branded tech labs fan but we do stock the standard 140mm Zaward fan.

No worries, just thought you'd be rolling out an ocuk fan for each size.

Ideally looking a black frame/white blade design, it'll go well in the corsair 300r. Back to the drawing board!

I would look at the NZXT fans. they are superb performers. a little on the expensive side but they are a much more premium product.

Out of interest, is there any reason why ocuk use a wrench for their logo on tech labs, of all the tools that you would use on a pc, a wrench is not really one that 95% of people would ever have to use in a pc (i suppose other maybe than in watercooling). Maybe im missing something obvious but I would have thought a screwdriver would have been the more appropriate tool.

because a screwdriver would have looked a bit sparse :p
no real rhyme or reason to it, it was just a design. i think youre reading too much into it ;)

those OcUK fans are @30.9 dBA ? thats pretty noisy

as mentioned in the thread. lots and lots of times, the reason we went for a faster fan is because a fast fan can be slowed down but a slow fan cannot be sped up.

Our second shipment of OcUK Tech labs fans has arrived.

we now offer a triple pack for an even better saving

To celebrate we have discounted the single fan on its own too.

Look out for an even better saving on This Week Only tomorrow!

Is this a permanent price drop? I might pick up that 3 pack in a few weeks, if it is still at that price.

price isnt changing. I will be leaving it as it is for now.

What connectors do they use?

three pin :)

How do these fair on a rad rjk?

Also any possibility they can be sent with the stickers on a sheet? In the market for new fans for a new build but I'll be painting them orange, don't want to damage the sticker removing it :p

Edit: 3.48mm static pressure, wow!!

i will be honest, a set of gentle typhoons is probably the best for out and out performance but one GT buys you nearly three of these.

they perform fairly well on a radiator but are best suited for denser rads.
you will see good performance on a hwlabs gtx or xspc ex series for example

something with low fpi will not perform as well.

the stickers are pre applied as this is a retail product. i can only suggest maybe using a hair dryer to remove them and keep them on some baking paper. not sure if that would work.

as mentioned, the static pressure figure is direct from the manufacturer, i would say it is a little generous but its hard to say.

at full tilt they do push a hell of a lot of air, but they are loud. a fan controller is required to be able to use the whole range.
