Should be a truly epic gaming monitor, its got all the right ingredients. :D

Hey Gibbo,

Have you seen a sample unit yet? I'd like to see a review before I buy :( I have to say, after seeing my iphone screen I'm sorely tempted by IPS - Do you still sell them?

Do you mean do we sell 27" IPS? If so yes, Hazro, DELL, IPS is far more expensive though compared to TN and is not as responsive for fast pace gaming and there is no 120Hz IPS panel technology yet officially.

Hey Gibbo,

Many thanks for the reply. I currently have a 2253BW so I'd imagine even the IPS panels are as quick?

Which gives better picture quality out of ips or something like this? Its extremely tempting!

IPS professional grade panels, such as those found in the DELL and Hazro's give a more natural colour balance and overall nicer picture, plus obviously better viewing angles.

For me as a gamer, IPS is more than fine.

But for the hardcore gamer, TN and 120Hz has better response and 120Hz gives more fluidity for a smoother game experience.

an interesting response .... so have you seen / heared of one "un-officially" ? :D

Yes some monitors with LG IPS screen can be overclocked. Not many achieve 120Hz, but some achieve 100Hz, however its rather unknown if it effects longevity, what is know for sure is LG don't recommend it. A lot has to do with circutary around the panel, helps achieve better results, but its not recommended at all, the risk are far greater than saying overclocking your CPU.

Same here.

I just don't understand the attraction of 1920x1080 for consumers. It's obviously cheaper for manufacturers but if I want to watch a HD film I'll use a television.

Still looks a great monitor and deal though. Just a bit too vertically challenged for me.

A HD film shall also play at 1920x1080 on your TV too. ;)

HI there

iiyama have agreed to give customers a £20 cashback, which shall be claimable from themselves. More details shall follow, but that now makes this a £300 monitored. :)

Had a test sample today, BF3 is simply stunning, 120Hz definetely gives a smoother more fluid gaming experience. Was simply sublime. :)
