After weeks of research i opted for the OcUK GeForce 6800 GS 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (AGP) which arrived Friday night. However upon installing it all i get is garbled weird patterns on screen at bootup. Double checked it is seated correctly etc and that my MB is compatable etc and still to no avail.

Is it goosed?

TIA

Try in another machine if possible, see if its same problem.... Other than that not sure, maybe old drivers not cleared off completely? just a stab in the dark

If you see screen corruption at boot up, i.e. BIOS screens etc, then it is not a driver problem. Sounds to me like the memory is faulty - RMA time!

A friend of mine bought the same from OCUK,had the same problem on both our computers with it and it's been RMA'd :(

Thanks for the replies, the PSU is a 3 month old tagen 500w so it should be more that up for the job. It looks like its goosed, will try on another machine to double check.

Thanks again.

my pc has done that with all the graphics cards ive had from my old ti4600 to a 9800pro and now my x800xl card (looks messed up on boot) but once its in windows its fine it must be somthing else and ive changed my screen to from a 17" lg ctr to my shiny new samsung 26" lcd hd tv and it does it on that too.

Not sure how is could be my monitor as my previous card (GeForce 4 Ti) seems fine. Before i intalled the new card i uninstalled the GF 4 Ti and reverted back to the basic display settings.

I will call overclockers today for the officail "word".

Cheers,

It is the memory on the card!
