So my friend bought a Gigabyte 1080ti with an ek bloack and backplate fitted, £850
With much excitement we removed his 780ti sli setup (also under water) and attempted to slip the new card in place.
Wouldn't go in, by about half a slot. Upon examination of the card, we found to our utter horror....
Screws missing, the incredible i/o shield, fitted so well it buckles the pcb. I dont know what to really say about that. Also had enough thermal goop to drown a pair of xeons (not photo'd)
Spent about the next hour taking the card apart so I could make 100% that it was actually built correctly.
Once you see this kind of incompetence you cant trust the workmanship of the item at all..
Now looks like,
Im not going to name and shame either the builder, nor the quality control. But I feels words should be had.
