Just to add to the original part of the review, here are the results in Heaven 3.0 from a Gigabyte GTX 670 WindForce 3X I tested.

Clock speeds were:-
1337MHz Core Boost Speed
7200MHz Memory Speed

The above was only benchmark stable, for 24/7 game running I'd settle for around 1250MHz/6600MHz.


Heaven 3.0 @ 1920x1080 4x/4x with tesselation on normal - Max Temperature 52c (Fan 100%)

In short these WindForce 3X cards due to the rather impressive overclocks they can hit, outperform a stock GTX 680 when running at approx 1150MHz / 6200MHz speeds. When the cards are pushed beyond 1200MHz core they outperform a GTX 680 and in short I've not yet found a GTX 670 which can't hit 1200MHz core, so on the overclocking side they are doing very well. Off course you can also clock a GTX 680, but the facts are a GTX 670 is approx £100 less than a GTX 680, yet the performance difference at best is only 10%, your certainly saving a lot more than 10% in cash.



Conclusion

In short the average performance difference in benchmarks and gaming is under 10% between the GTX 670 and GTX 680. For some strange reason our Palit GTX 670 was boosting too 1071MHz, yet according to the specification it should only boost too 980MHz. This I can only assume is due to NVIDIA's boost technology detecting the card can run much higher boost speed without issue, hence the high boost clock speeds we witnessed from the stock Palit card. But saying that the Gigabyte WindForce 3X was boosting as high as 1202MHz by itself. As such when the GTX 670 boost so high compared to a stock GTX 670 the actual performance difference is closer to 5%.

In short 1150MHz core speed on a GTX 670 gives stock GTX 680 performance levels and they all seem to manage such speeds easily. When up against a good clock GTX 680 such as the EVGA Superclock the GTX 680 just manages to keep its lead over the amazing Gigabyte GTX 670 WindForce 3X card, but it is marginal at best and the price difference is close to £150.00

In short a GTX 670 is approx £100 cheaper than a GTX 680 and with a mild overclock will give you GTX 680 performance, which is an overclock all GTX 670's seem to do without breaking a sweat. In short if your only interst is gaming, then right now I have to say the GTX 670 is simply the gamers card of choice, it has all the features of GTX 680 and performs within 10% of it for far less money and with an overclock can outperform a stock GTX 680. As such I'd take the GTX 670 everytime! The only reason to go for the GTX 680 is if you do crave the absolute best or are chasing benchmark numbers, but apart from that the GTX 670 just seems the obvious choice.

If it was my money, then I'd be buying either a Gigabyte GTX 670 WindForce 3X or a KFA2 GTX 670 EX OC, those are the two best cards for low noise and overclock without a doubt.
