Hi there

Told you'd we would get the OCZ PC4000EB in for you all, we've had a huge shipment arrive today and will be doing a special on both this and the PC3200 Platinum 2GB Kits as well. So we should be the cheapest and the only stockist in the UK too.

We also have plenty of Corsair 3500LL Pro 2GB Kits in stock too and I believe everywhere else in the UK has no stock. :)

Gibbo,

Surely if you're the only stockist you could sell it at £1000000 and STILL be the cheapest? ;)

Moooooo! (+1)

Just tried to order some but get a message that its been removed from the catalgoue, is there some error or they all gone?

EDIT: Its on this week only

Well at that price, how can I refuse :D. Nice work Gibbo - that is about the price I wanted to pay and OcUK delivered as they said they would. Now, where's my wallet.... :D

You took the Hiper 580W and Razer mouse off just as i was about to buy. Have to reconsider now unless you can give me those weekly sale prices. :)

I take that OCZ PC3200 ISN'T Revision 2? Is the only difference the timings 2-3-2-5 to 2-2-2-5? Not much difference at all then or am i missing something?

LOL at Gibbo patiently ignoring everyone picking him up for being "Cheapest and only supplier" !! :D.
Seriously though, that seems a good price for some nice memory

Revision 2 is only 1GB Kits (2x512MB). For 2GB Kits there is only the one revision and its the one we sell.

Newbie alert!

I am desperate need of a ram upgrade and have been considering the 2gb PC4000 Platinum EB DDR for a while.
The thing is my motherboard (abit fatal1ty an8 sli) is compatible with ddr400 but no mention of anything above that on the abit site.
The ocz memory configurator does not include the ddr500 in the list of compatible modules. So its not compatible, right? or is it.
Would I be able to run it at ddr400 ok or do you recon the motherboard wouldn't recognise it so I wouldn't even be able to get into the bios to change the settings?
If it does post would it be financially stupid to pay for the ddr500 if it only runs at ddr400 when i could just get the ddr400 sticks?
Any help is much appreciated, Apologies if this is a stupid question but gotta start somewhere. Cheers

It'd run at DDR400 at stock because thats the Athlon 64's default FSB/HTT, setting the HTT in the BIOS to 250MHz would make it run at PC4000 speeds, assuming the RAM is set to DDR400 (or sync).

You're at 240HTT now anyway? So why run the RAM at 400?

coz i'm a newbie and picking up bits as i go.
I can get my head around cpu and graphics overclocking no problem - but no matter how much I read I can't get my head around RAM clocking.
Say I got my cpu running at 2.5ghz (250 x10) I'd ideally want the memory running @250mhz too or faster, yeah?
If can get it running at 2.52ghz (280 x9) the ideally i want the ram @280mhz or faster?
The second offering the best performance of the two.
...So what speed should I be running the ram at in the above examples? Currently I am at 240fsb x 10 with my ram @200mhz but in CPU-z FSB:DRAM =cpu/12 (presumably for optimal performance i want that to be cpu/10? ignoring timings for the minute)Sorry if i seem as thick as pig sh** and for hijacking the post.

No point running ram faster than CPU ( and I think its actually impossible)

But yes you are right the IDEAL is to run the ram at the same MHz as the FSB ie 1:1 ratio

There is a proviso that AMD S939 systems ( unlike Intel) dont get that much affected by the ratio, as far as i understand it.

Your current setup is well matched- however you are also right in that if you can , you should get ram that goes upto 240Mhz (either by getting PC4000 or getting some decent clocking but lower spec sticks )

Your first example again wont make much difference performance wise as your cpu is still at 2.5Ghz approx, as the emory controller is on die the added 30Mhz is neither here nor there.

I am ready to be corrected on this, but i believe this to be the case

I think the FX57 supports that as well as all newer FX's... DFI specifically added in that new divider when the FX57 was released.

How high will the OCZ PC3200 go then in terms of HTT/FSB? A general figure would be grand rather than a review of the technicality of PC3200 and A64 compatibility.

I can't make my mind up on the EL and EB? Is it worth the increase. I will soon have a 3700+ SD and DFI Ultra-D.

Depends - 230-240mhz perhaps seems average from forum goers on xtremesystems etc, 250 if lucky.
