Looks like my upgrade will require more power, it wasn't budgeted for, so i need to keep the costs down.

550w should do it, and i want to spend as little as possible.

Someone (caithomas) recommended the Huntkey for my PSU problem, but i know nothing about them and i'm slightly weary,

But i was checking through the threads and it said it comes with a lifetime warranty, which suggests they are confident in their build quality.

So is anyone using them? Any horror stories out there?

Cheers.

I take it your wary rather then weary? ;)

Sorry, I know that doesnt help and its annoying to correct people, but it kinda amused me.

They seem to be quite a good psu, what will it be powering?

This is my upgrade:

Coolermaster Hyper TX 2 CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775) £7.99 (£9.39)
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - OEM £135.99 (£159.79)
Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard £64.99n (£76.36)
OcUK Huntkey 550W PSU £34.99 (£41.11)
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC) £34.99 (£41.11)

Plus a 7800GT for now, and a 8800GT around xmas.

Dvd, 1 HD and case fan.

There isn't that much info about Huntkey available but what I have found suggests them to be rather more competent than your average budget PSU. I'd probably pick the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro over that cooler, particularly if you want to overclock. :)
