Greetings,

Today I received my new OCUK IP35 Pro motherboard - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-000-OK&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=913

However, I had a quick look over it before putting it in, and noticed an unusual power socket on the top, left corner of the board. It looks like an extended version of the regular 4-pin plug which you get on motherboards.

Anyone know if this plug has a specific purpose? And is it vital to make the board function properly? Because my PSU doesnt have a matching plug into the socket.

It's designed for the newer 8 pin power plugs, but it will take the older 4 pin plug without any problems. You will need to plug atleast a 4 pin plug into it.

the 8-pin plug, you may just plug into the top 4 pins near the PS/2 ports if you don't have a 8-pin plug with your power supply, just pay attention to the pin and don't plug in wrongly.
a correct pin alignment doesn't need you any force.

Thanks for the advice, looks like I'll have to start putting it all in now (my new 8800GT better damn work with this motherboard)

Right, got it all setup :D

However, I have a problem.

When I try and boot with the memory in dual channel mode, the computer wont POST, but works fine in single channel.
Does anyone have experience with this? I thought of a BIOS upgrade but couldnt find anywhere to download one.

what is your BIOS version? the date is?

what memory? same chip on them?

since we are still preparing the BIOS flash guide, the BIOS will be available for download after that.
Estimated completion time: Next weekend.

If you're trtying to set 1T then 1T vs 2T isn't a function of the motherboard - it's a function of the RAM. Your RAM will probably be able to run 200MHz 1T perfectly fine, but not 400MHz 1T, for that you'll have to use 2T.

Im finding it rather nice, not much to say really at the moment as I have only just got Vista running properly. I had about 10 mins on Crysis and got a blue screen though.

One I got it all running smoothly im going to probably write a lengthy review in the official thread.
