So I called OC yesterday and I was recommended this system for my budget (around £1500) but I thought I’d run it past a few knowledgable people on here. I’ve just purchased a PG279Q 1440p 165hz Rog Swift (Gsync) and I’m looking for a system to compliment it nicely! So I can still spend a bit more of it’s going to be a worthwhile upgrade, how is this system just straight out the box? Or should I be looking at something completely different?

Some people will notice I’ve taken to this forum a few times asking similar questions but I’ve finally got around to buying the monitor so it’s full speed ahead now.

ask them to change Kolink PSU to bequiet 600w that are on deal .

could drop down to 9600k and push RTX 2080 , give give you gtx 1080ti performance and push 15fps+ to take advantage of that high HZ monitor .

since gaming at 1440p, 9700 to 9600k should make to much different , spepcially if it can be clocked to 5ghz all cores

That does seem like a strong move, so would you keep the rest the same though, case etc?

I’ll have to check out that gpu and cpu situation as soon as I finish work though but I feel pretty close to pulling the trigger!
 
‘I think because of the cash off , its hard to do a build list and then have OCUK build it’ sorry, I don’t quite follow what you mean? Are you saying it’s hard to use their prebuilt and modify it or that it’s hard to pick all the parts and have it made?

Well that would make sense. The temptation to up my budget slightly for the Zotac 2080 is real though! I’m also a bit unsure of what pwm fans to get for the case but I’m sure I can’t leave it stock, it only has the one.

Ahh I see, I think that’s gone now what would you do for cooling though? Add 3 140mm fans (2 intake and 1 exhaust and have the stock 120m on exhaust too?) and then do I need the fan regulator to control the fans and stop them spinning 100% all the time?

would personally just add two 140mm to the front and 120mm stock to the rear. keeps positive pressure high and forces air out of the case . Fans would plug into the motherboards headers and be controlled via its bios/software
