The effect on community would be my biggest concern, one majority positive to lotro is its community, decent level of maturity, low level of pointless spam and very low level of immature idiots swarming about like in some other mmo's I could mention. As long as laurelins community remains intact then it's a good thing, mess up laurelins community though and it will be the end of lotro as an mmo option for me.

I am guessing so. That pretty much covers the starter areas only.

That is crippled game area.

Although I was thinking of making a character and see how long (or until i get bored) it takes to level up without doing any quests (well maybe epics!). Just killing mobs. Wonder if they could do that in different areas.

My char Clothalion and the other newly created alts did not quest until they hit lvl 40... I simply ran around killing mobs until I got bored ;) skirmishes helped mind you from 30-40.

Can't see any reason why not, would imagine that there would be nothing to stop someone just grinding on mobs to level , although it would be a tough grind I guess as the xp from mob killing was a lot less than questing when I last checked.

yeah luckily I have the TV next to my monitor so I was concentrating more on the TV than the game unless kin chat kicked in ;) bare in mind it is a lot slower than questing unfortunately.

I training my kids up. Soon they'll be trained to respond to chat stuff in a human manner, and then I'll leave them on 24/7!! and never have to play myself again......

And another quick thought, I wonder if you can bring a character over from another server, with these points we going to get.

You'll have your own fellowship soon enough Toneh, start the kids on practising fellowship manoeuvres asap.

My gut says yes for the char transfer as it seems like the payment model is heading for everything going through the LOTRO shop with these Turbine Points.

Quite probably, as they can be used to purchase expansions I don't think its unreasonable to see them being used for that sort of thing (not on free accounts obviously as those are 1 character per server by standard, but any account which has a spare character slot would seem fair to me)

I hope so, be tempted to move my main on snowbourne then, I could do with the cash :)

Whose up for Fornost this weekend then? I'm a few levels past the recommended but really want the decoration for each boss for the kin house :D

37-42 should be fine,

Also, anyone up for stomping through Bree + Thorin's Hall Rep dungeons (40+) to kill all the bosses? Some cool titles to be had (not to mention the deadly cheese!)

Toneh, I'll park my hunter until you're the same level (34) then we can blast through some quests. I love my captain dearly, but sweet jesus, they take their time killing stuff.

Yer tell me about it. I played a champ and a hunter before, and I'm sure it was quicker. Although to be fair it's nice to be able to heal, i even res'd someone the other day!

Crikey, this dropped off the first few pages fairly swiftly. How is it going? I'm still mulling over the lifetime deal, but I mentioned before that my concern was that everyone would bugger off back to WoW. Hows it doing? Still plenty of people playing or has it all died off except for 2 or 3 people?
