You don't have to RP if you don't want to, its really more about being accepting that others might RP. I personally prefer RP servers simply because they tend to have a more mature helpful community with lots and lots of player run events to flesh the game out.

Tomb has answered your worries pretty much perfectly.

Its not about roleplaying on the server our kin in no way, shape or form roleplays (I do but only with the missus on weekends :p) but this is not a problem.

It merely requires that you be respectful of others people right to roleplay.

In a way it makes the server more fun as there are always random events occuring in the world that you can watch and it makes it seem a much more real experience. Best one I have ever seen is the massive concert that was held in the Shire under the party tree. There were hundreds of people watching a band play (a player controlled band) and it was a bloody impressive spectacle.

Also as Tomb pointed out the fact that it is roleplay seems to relate to the server being a more mature and fun experience. YOu never get any moronic crap spam which ruins games on the server.

Basically give the Kin a go, we are a friendly group of players who are all around lower levels still at the mo and the server is great!
 
We finally managed to do a Garth Agarwen!

Didn't get anything but a hefty repair bill but a fun time was had by all, we even got a couple of six-stage fellowship manoeuvres down to a tee. They really do help, couple of signature 2k HP summoned wights take a beating for you, and they're completely free!

I stuck up one I grabbed from just before the Red Maid, I was quite proud of that one. Is there any button tht hides the visible hud? Would make for better screenies. And a quick note to the rest of the kinship, NEVER put me first in the line for fellowship maneuvres! That's the first time I've actively used them, and once I found out moving cancelled your input, I think it went quite well. Check the kinship site for screenie - shame about Vaeith's disease ;)
 
Meh, just re-installed - thought I'd have a looksie as I haven't played really since I bought the game - but I can't pay for a months sub to see if I like it? It wants £75 for a lifetime sub with no shorter options.

Screw that.

F12 hides the HUD.

Something wrong there, I looked at reactivating on Thursday and I had the option to do a months sub, you should have the same options as me.
 
Cwyngael will be on briefly from about 23:30 tonight, and most of tomorrow, Thursday & Friday. /Tell for invites.

Ragu's also on quite a lot. I think he likes the scenery. Y'know.... likes it. With his hand.
 
I've played a few hours on Snowborune now and i'm up to level 15.

I can count on my hand the number of real players i've seen in the world..... :(

Can't say I've had that trouble so far, always a few people about to do group quests with.

I haven't seen much RP tbh, well out side the towns.

There is one sure sign of RP'ers, they walk everywhere. Sometimes though its fun to have a listern :)
