Was thinking earlier, we all love experimenting with new recipes from around the world, so how about starting a total shameless copy of DirtyJester's competition format for a "Meals of the World" competition - working in exactly the same system?

Each letter again would be for the starting letter of a country, and then you'd have to COOK OR PREPARE (not just eat a mango for Kenya) a dish that is a traditional one in that country over the week at some point. For example, on Hungary, goulash could be made, or on Greece, tzatziki.

Thoughts?

Wouldn't this be difficult to judge? :D will need pics of ingredients, during cooking, final dish and recipe! :p

Yeah, we'll have a poll system rather than points system, with a 1st 2nd & 3rd results that receive points. I'll start making the thread then!

Pretty awesome idea. I'm not sure I'd have the time to do something weekly though.

I did think that, perhaps we could make it bi-weekly as it's not just a case of popping the shop with this one?

can we have America for the first week? Mmm McDonalds :D

You have to do the cooking. ;)

if its done every 2 weeks it would take a year to finish, maybe we could vote A B or C or the first week, D E or F 2 weeks later etc?

This is also true. I think having it weekly is the best option, but change the timing so that it covers a weekend+? IE, you will know of the country beforehand, will have a weekend to shop, and week + weekend to cook it.

Okay guys, looks like enough people would want to do it, it's just a case of finding a decent equilibrium. Really, the meals don't need to be hugely special. Even if you made some homemade humous for Greece, that's absolutely fine. It shouldn't HAVE to take several hours to prepare.
