Ocuk Mega Mat developing dead spot!

Hey guys, I've had a https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk...-elite-tactical-gaming-surface-gs-001-oe.html for under a year but it has devloped a dead spot where the mouse is used most!

This is a bit annoying as the friction levels are changing as it hits it (goes slower on that spot then speeds up as it gets past it).

Is there any way to fix this? My old Ocuk one (the ones before they were stiched around the edges) never had this problem and is still going strong, if a lot more dirty etc, with my sons system.

Funnily enough i have the
OcUK Mega Mat XXL Elite Tactical Gaming Surface
Cheaper version of yours and have noticed the same.Washed it in the bath a while ago and it seemed to help for a while

Skin grime will build up fast on any matt between the fibers.

Put it in the washing machine on the lowest setting (~30c). Leave it to dry and they come out as good as new. Done it to about 6 or so XXL pads I've had - no issues.

I'd keep a damp cloth nearby for rubbing the area gently once a week since the skin grime will build up quickly. As you'll see the grey lines from your nails.
