OCUK more than a website?

Yes it's a shop!

good point, if this forum wasn't linked to a shop then i wouldn't have signed up, but as thread title suggests, it is 'more' then just a forum as the people on here are very friendly and happy to give away much of their free time to help... or to argue :p but its good to know that when im going to make a purchase there will be a number of people on heres ready to 'correctly' sway my choices in the right direction :) its also a great place to discuss the latest PC game releases and also find what games i should give a try. so i would say that this forum is like my internet home

I find whenever I open my browser, the first thing I do is come here. Been doing so for the past 4 years even though I only joined this year. It's definitely more than just a website to me. I find it's a good way to keep up with the latest in the news and tech stuff as it filters out all the rubbish stuff no one cares about and won't talk about.

My name is Reginald. And Im an addict.
There should be a 12 step program..

Tis good fun coming online and seeing whats going on with everyone though. Makes for good reading.

Worst part is, i spend sooo much time here, but all i do is lurk and watch other peoples internetlife go by :<

I would be willing to admit i'm rather addicted to this forum. Not a life affecting addiction, but and addiction none the less, i certainly spend more time on this website than i do any other on the net.

I certainly feel differently about OcUK as through it I've met and made some of my closest friends, some that have gone away with me on holiday, and that have met and spent time with my family too. I shan't embarass them with who they are, but to have developed that just goes to show what an incredible place this is. Unfortunately owing to the fact we don't all live in the same place we can't keep in touch or see one another that often, but it'sa tribute to this place.

I feel very similar to Freefaller. There are people here I have known, both online and in real life, for many years now who I met through these forums. Some truly good friends, my girlfriend, and a whole host of other acquaintances.

I know the owner, some of the shop staff, all good people.

For that reason OcUK will always be special for me, and more than "just another internet forum".

Ah I only know one person off of here in real life...however I knew him before this as well which is odd.

Just never knew they where a member :p

I really think a lot of credit must go to the longer timers that have given so much time to the site. You know it's well moderated, and usually a mix between a laugh and a zoo.

I remember this forum back in 2001 and it was just as active and friendly back then - it's defo the efforts of all those involved that make it more than just a casual once a week type of place, and a place to log in and say around

Good forum but not quite as homely as a certain gaming community I used to participate in. Bit too much 'attitude' and wanting to talk people down goes on around here (I'm sure there's a certain irony to that statement!), plus the fact 95%+ of posters are British can make things a little less interesting.

Ive been on this site for a number of years and it is a good site for everything you wanna know basically.
I like certain ppl on here there all characters in my head like zefan hes the sig police who blokes on here wanna e-bum him, but we still like him:)
Then theres gibbo who comes up with these random threads about selling pc parts from some store that he owns.

Its a great site and hope it goes on for quite some time:D

Bit weird, but...

Ever feel that this forum is more than what it is, as in it feels bigger than a internet website (forum)

.....

Be free to say i've lost it, I'm not exactly the most active member here, but i go through phases where im always on and then i can go months without even reading posts nevermind participating :p But it always feel "safe" haha

I am exactly the same as this - I would like to think a few people recognise my Nick but I tend to wander in and post quite a bit for a few months then nothing for 6 months... I also started out in Mobiles... then migrated to speakers corner for a while and now I have sort of settled here :)

I've gotten the bug in the last few months too, was previously a lurker. Thinking about getting an eee just so I can read through the day at uni, and for work of course. ;-)

Lurked here for YEARS, only signed up this year (Since I can browse at work I figured why not ).

Generally keeps me from boredom when there is little or nothing to do at work. Good crack here most of the time with friendly members. Everyone has their moments but we wouldnt be people if that wasn't the case :)

Love the forum, love the shop (although its been a while since I bought any kit).
