nVidia practically doubled the price of the 1080TI for 30% more performance, the 2080TI is £1150, the 2080 £850 so the 2070 will be £600, we really are now paying way over £500 for a mid range card, its ####'ing insane.

Based on the specs it is pretty much what I expected. Had they not gone for tensor cores it would have been 50% easily. But I am happy they did. We may see some great use of RTX in the near future.

On another note, so much for those like hardware unboxed who said they cannot see it being more than 20% faster than a 1080ti. Lol.

How are they going to use it in gameplay when it's not implemented yet? It's evident from the benchmarks and some of the screenshots it's going to offer a massive increase in performance over TAA and better IQ in most game engines. It's just a matter of how well it's going to be adopted.

It hit 50% and over on some titles and the DLSS review (although limited to 2 titles) was pushing close to 100% so I have no idea why you are disappointed.... these results are very impressive for the 2080Ti
 
A little underwhelmed myself.

Think I'll keep an eye on 1080 ti prices to give me a bit more grunt at 1440.
 
Disappointed in DLSS, it basically looks like a worse version of lowering render scale 10% with about the same or less performance increase.

exactly,mid tier cards £400 upwards..congrats to those who let nvidia know these prices are ok tho :(

Brilliant. i'm guessing the 2070 will also cost 80% more than the 1070 for 30% more performance.

Maybe a 2060 for 5% higher performance at only 40% more money?

Or a 2050 for 20% less performance, but its ok, it only costs 10% more.

It’s costing me about 40% more than my 1080ti. Not sure why you would be paying 80% more. Total drama post.

I think you were wrong, personally. Some of the games show the potential of the 2080 over the old Ti and it's in the region of 40%. YOu took issue when I said it would be a decent amount faster :). Granted it's going to be newer games probably but I can see the average performance increase getting better in newer titles (IMO) :D.
If someone has an old Ti they may not want to upgrade to a 2080 at least yet until new titles show a sustained good increase over the old Tii and the best choice would have course be the new Ti but it's of coruse big £.
If someone has 1080 Ti money available to spend, they'd now just buy the 2080, right? :D.It's as fast as the old Ti in old games and has a potential 40% increase especially in forthcoming titles.

Seeing some odd results in games.

In Strange Brigade the 2080 Ti is not much faster than Pascal which is odd as Volta has a much bigger margin.
 
I remember spending 630 quid on the 1080ti last year and thinking I was unwell. That's now proven to be a decent investment.

Until nvidia drop their prices and realise the error of their ways **** the 2080ti
