Nice one Bru!

It's a good overclockers habit to record this stepping/chip info before you fit the HSF. Look forward to your results, these oem X2 3800's look like great value!

anyone started clocking these yet? Im looking at the oems but if they dont clock so well id rather pay the extra for a retail as they seem to be clocking pretty damn well.

went straight to 2.6Ghz and seemed to run ok.....doom 3 benchmark and 3dmark o5 ......but when i started to use it it crashed a couple of times .....so i tried prime and it crashed after about 3 mins .....now im at 2.55Ghz.....and prime has been running for a few hours...its ok so far.

theres so many setting in the bios got me confussed as hell.....itel was so much easier :D ......i will get it sorted im sure.... but im happy so far.

Just got mine today, same stepping as everyone CCBWE 0601XMPW, booted straihgt to 2.5GHz on stock volts so it's looking like a beaut. Will try more at the weekend as I'm away from home from tommorow again >.>

Edit: BSOD at stock volts, gone up to 1.4, just working out how to stress both cores lol.

Oh what a suprise!

Take your time....test it properly...and report back your findings. Its better than making a claim, then making a retraction. This thread will still be here when your done :)

Mono Core= Dual Prime

Dual Core= Quad Prime

no need to take the mick. Bit of an idiot to do that to be honest. Not everyone is as "cool" or as good at overclocking as you mate, some of us are bit new to it, so before you start getting smart alecky, think about posts that won't make people feel welcome to a forum. :)

Oh dear :(

Sorry about that, didn't mean to make you feel unwelcome at all. I'm sure your very excited about getting your uber system set-up and all that, but this forum is full to bursting of posts like "oh wow booted at 3GHz on stock volts!" followed a few days later by "oh man keep getting a BSOD during BF2!" etc etc.

Feel free to do as you please, but please don't expect every post to be "oh wow your amazing, I bow before you" etc etc

I want my cake and to eat it to, I'm sure you do as well ;)

I want a super-fast system as much as you, but its gotta be stable, stable and stable! BSOD's, system reboots and freezes are for weenies.

Take your time and enjoy the process, there is no competition here and i believe overclockers.co.uk forums to be a friendly place :)

If you have a dual core system you run to instances of prime not 4.
Really? says who? :)

If you want a way to actually test stability then give it a whirl.

Mono-Core= 2x Prime (1xSmall FFTs, 1x Large FFTs)
Dual-Core= 4x Prime (2xSmall FFTs, 2x Large FFTs)

Very very tough test, it will *shatter* what you previously believed to be a *stable* system.

Of course this depends whether you are a Benchmarker or a Power-User :)

thats all I have to say in this thread, lets get back to the oems X2 3800+
